HOW DOES CAFFEINE BENEFIT YOUR SKIN?
Caffeine helps visibly reduce under-eye puffiness and awaken the appearance of tired-looking eyes. By minimizing the look of fluid-related swelling and vascular shadowing, it supports a smoother, brighter and more refreshed-looking eye area.

Caffeine is a naturally occurring plant compound found in coffee, tea, cacao, guarana and kola nuts. In skincare, it is especially valued in eye treatments for its de-puffing properties and its ability to revive the appearance of dull, fatigued-looking skin.

Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors within vascular tissue, which can temporarily narrow superficial blood vessels. Around the eyes, this helps reduce the appearance of vascular congestion and fluid-related swelling, making puffiness and dark shadows look less pronounced. Its small, water-compatible molecules can also penetrate the skin efficiently, allowing caffeine to deliver targeted cosmetic benefits where it is applied.
Caffeine was first isolated from coffee beans in 1819 by German chemist Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge after the writer and naturalist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe encouraged him to study coffee's active components. It later became one of the world's most widely recognized plant compounds and a valued ingredient in modern eye and body care.
Caffeine occurs naturally in the seeds, leaves and fruits of more than 60 plant species, including coffee, tea, guarana, cacao and yerba mate. Cosmetic-grade caffeine may be extracted from botanical sources or carefully produced in a laboratory to achieve the purity and consistency required for skincare formulations.
Coffee and tea plants do not produce caffeine to energize people. In nature, caffeine acts as part of the plant's own defense system, helping protect it against certain insects and pests.
